Responsive Design for Every Screen

Layouts that adapt cleanly from small phones to wide desktop monitors, tested on real devices rather than only resized browser windows.

Overview

Responsive Web Design

Responsive design is more than shrinking a layout. It means rethinking navigation, tables, forms and media for small screens, touch input and slower connections. Codemotives designs mobile-first, then scales up, so the essential content and actions are never an afterthought on a phone. We check real content, not placeholder text, at every breakpoint.

We also fix existing sites that were never built to adapt. That involves auditing breakpoints, replacing fixed-width elements, making images and tables flexible, and checking behavior across common browsers and devices. The goal is a consistent experience that is easy to maintain, not a pile of device-specific patches. Where a retrofit would cost more than it saves, we say so plainly.

Context

Problems we solve

  • 01

    Fixed-width legacy layouts

Older sites break on phones because widths are hard-coded. We refactor to flexible grids rather than layering fixes.

  • 02

    Complex tables and forms

Dense data and long forms are hard on small screens. We redesign them for stacked, touch-friendly use.

  • 03

    Inconsistent device behavior

A layout can look fine in one browser and fail in another. We test across real devices and engines.

  • 04

    Heavy mobile pages

Large images and scripts hurt users on mobile networks. We size and load assets for the device.

Capabilities

What we deliver

  1. 01

    Mobile-first design

We start with the smallest screen, setting content priority, then add space and features as the viewport grows.

  2. 02

    Fluid grids and type

Modern CSS grid, flexbox and fluid sizing replace brittle pixel layouts.

  3. 03

    Responsive images

Multiple image sizes and modern formats are served by device so pages stay light.

  4. 04

    Touch and input design

Tap targets, menus and form controls are sized and spaced for fingers and keyboards.

  5. 05

    Cross-device testing

We check key flows on real phones, tablets and several browsers, not only emulators.

  6. 06

    Retrofit of existing sites

We audit and convert non-responsive sites in stages, keeping your content and URLs intact.

Approach

How we deliver

  1. 1

    Discover

We learn your goals, users, constraints and existing systems before proposing anything.

  2. 2

    Plan

Scope, priorities, architecture and milestones are agreed so everyone knows what ships when.

  3. 3

    Design

User flows, interfaces and technical design are shaped and reviewed with you early.

  4. 4

    Build

Work is delivered in short iterations with regular demos, so progress is always visible.

  5. 5

    Test

Functional, integration and performance checks run throughout, not only at the end.

  6. 6

    Launch & support

We deploy, monitor and keep improving the product after it goes live.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

Can you make our existing site responsive?

Usually yes. We audit the current build first. Sometimes retrofitting is practical; sometimes rebuilding the front end is cleaner, and we will explain which and why.

Do you build a separate mobile site?

Generally no. One responsive codebase is easier to maintain and avoids duplicated content, though we may add device-specific features where needed.

How do you test?

We test breakpoints in browsers and on a set of real devices agreed with you. We cannot cover every device, so we focus on those your audience actually uses.
