Overview

Shopify

Shopify is a hosted commerce platform: Shopify runs the infrastructure, security patches, checkout and payments, and merchants manage products and orders in the admin. Storefronts are built with Liquid themes or headless setups using the Storefront API, and functionality extends through apps, theme app extensions, metafields and Shopify Functions. It is widely used by brands from small shops to large retailers.

Because the platform is hosted, our job is to work cleanly within it. We build or customize themes that stay maintainable, create custom or private apps for logic the app store does not cover, and connect inventory, ERP and shipping tools through the Admin API. We choose headless only when there is a real need. Checkout customization options depend on your Shopify plan, and we confirm what is possible before planning.

When is Shopify a good fit?

It suits businesses that want a reliable, quick-to-launch store with minimal infrastructure work. Highly unusual catalog or checkout logic can run into platform limits, which we assess early.

Can you customize checkout?

To a degree. Shopify restricts checkout changes, and what is available depends on your plan, so we confirm options during planning rather than promising unsupported changes.

Should we go headless?

Headless gives design freedom and performance control, but adds development and maintenance cost and can break some apps. For most stores a well-built theme is the better choice.

Do we own our store data?

Your product, customer and order data can be exported from Shopify. We help with exports and migrations if you ever need to move.
