Custom Shopify Apps Built Right
Custom Shopify apps that add features themes cannot, connect your store to other systems, or serve merchants through the app ecosystem.
Overview
Shopify App Development
A Shopify app extends the platform when themes and existing apps fall short. It might automate order handling, sync inventory with an ERP, add custom product configuration or offer a feature to many merchants. Codemotives builds apps using Shopify APIs, webhooks, app extensions and embedded admin interfaces. Each app is documented so your team or another developer can maintain it later.
We design for correctness and platform rules: OAuth and permissions, rate limits, webhook reliability, data privacy, and uninstall handling. We build private or custom apps for one store, and can help with public apps for the App Store, which has its own review process we cannot control. Codemotives builds on Shopify's public APIs and documentation.
Context
Problems we solve
- 01
Gaps in existing apps
Store-specific needs rarely match generic apps. A custom app fits your exact workflow.
- 02
API limits and reliability
Rate limits and missed webhooks cause data drift. We build queueing, retries and reconciliation.
- 03
App review requirements
Public apps must meet Shopify's standards. We build with those requirements in mind.
- 04
Maintenance burden
APIs change on a regular schedule. We plan for version upgrades.
Capabilities
What we deliver

FAQs
Common questions
Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.
Custom app or an existing one?
If an existing app does the job reliably, use it. Build custom when you need unique logic, tighter integration, or want to avoid paying per-feature fees for several apps.
Can you publish to the Shopify App Store?
We can build to Shopify's requirements and prepare the submission, but approval is Shopify's decision and timing varies.
Who owns the app code?
Ownership terms are set in your contract. Typically custom apps built for you are yours, and we document them for handover.
