Magento for Complex Catalogs

Magento gives large and complex catalogs deep control. We build, extend and upgrade stores on both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce.

Overview

Magento

Magento is a PHP-based commerce platform offered as Magento Open Source, which is free to use and self-hosted, and as Adobe Commerce, a licensed edition with additional features such as B2B tooling, staging and support, available self-hosted or on Adobe's cloud. It supports multiple stores and storefronts, flexible catalog and pricing rules, and extensive customization through modules.

That power brings complexity, so engineering discipline matters. We build custom modules following Magento's architecture, dependency injection and plugin system rather than editing core code, choose between Luma-based themes, Hyvä or headless front ends, and tune performance with caching, indexing and search. We also handle security patches, version upgrades and extension audits, which are essential for keeping a Magento store healthy.

Context

Why teams choose it

    Deep customization

Modules, plugins and configurable business rules let Magento handle unusual products, pricing and workflows.

  • 03

    Large catalogs

It is built for extensive product data, attributes and layered navigation.

  • 04

    Control over hosting and code

Self-hosted editions give full ownership of infrastructure and source.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

What is the difference between Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce?

Magento Open Source is the free, community edition you host yourself. Adobe Commerce is the paid edition from Adobe with extras such as B2B features, content staging and vendor support, and a cloud hosting option. We help you determine whether those extras justify the licensing cost.

Is Magento too heavy for a small store?

Often yes. Magento needs capable hosting and ongoing maintenance, so smaller catalogs are usually better served by Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce.

Can you upgrade our old Magento store?

Yes. We audit extensions and custom code, plan the upgrade path and test thoroughly. Heavily customized older stores sometimes need partial rebuilding, which we flag during the audit.

Why is my Magento site slow?

Common causes include missing caching, poor hosting, heavy extensions and unoptimized themes. We profile the site to find the actual bottlenecks before proposing changes.
