Flutter Apps, One Codebase

Flutter lets one team ship polished apps to iOS and Android, and beyond, from a single codebase. We use it where a custom, consistent UI matters.

Overview

Flutter

Flutter is Google's open source UI toolkit, written in Dart. Instead of wrapping native widgets, it draws its own interface with a high-performance rendering engine, which gives pixel-level control and identical behavior across platforms. Hot reload shortens the feedback loop, and one codebase can target iOS, Android, web and desktop.

We pair Flutter with a clear state management approach such as Riverpod or Bloc, a feature-first project structure and automated testing. When an app needs capabilities Flutter does not provide directly, we write platform channels in Swift and Kotlin. We are also upfront about fit: Flutter suits branded, UI-rich products, while very platform-specific apps may be better served natively.

Context

Why teams choose it

  • 01

    One codebase, many platforms

A single Dart codebase reduces duplicated effort and keeps iOS and Android features in step.

  • 02

    Custom, consistent UI

Flutter's own rendering engine makes branded designs and animations look the same on every device.

  • 03

    Fast iteration

Hot reload and a rich widget library help teams move from design to working screens quickly.

  • 04

    Near-native performance

Compiled ahead-of-time code and a GPU-accelerated renderer deliver smooth interfaces for most app types.

Capabilities

What we build with it

  1. 01

    Cross-platform product builds

End-to-end Flutter apps for iOS and Android, with web and desktop targets where they make sense.

  2. 02

    Custom design systems

Reusable themed widgets and design tokens that keep large apps visually consistent.

  3. 03

    State and architecture

Riverpod, Bloc or Provider with clean layering, dependency injection and testable business logic.

  4. 04

    Native integration

Platform channels and plugins for Bluetooth, biometrics, payments and device features not covered by existing packages.

  5. 05

    Backend connectivity

REST, GraphQL and Firebase integration, with offline caching and secure token handling.

  6. 06

    Testing and delivery

Unit, widget and integration tests, with CI pipelines producing store-ready builds.

Typical projects

  • Startup MVPs on both stores
  • Branded consumer apps with rich motion
  • Internal tools for iOS and Android
  • Dashboards sharing mobile and web code
  • Apps replacing two separate native codebases

Approach

How we work with it

  1. 1

    Assess

We review your goals and any existing code to decide where this technology fits best.

  2. 2

    Architect

We plan structure, integrations, data flow and hosting before writing production code.

  3. 3

    Build

Features ship in small, reviewed increments with automated checks along the way.

  4. 4

    Release & maintain

We deploy, monitor and keep dependencies and versions up to date.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

Is Flutter good for production apps?

Yes, Flutter is stable and widely used in production. It works especially well for UI-driven apps; for apps that depend heavily on newly released platform features, native code may expose them sooner.

Flutter or React Native?

Flutter draws its own UI in Dart for consistent visuals, while React Native uses JavaScript or TypeScript and native components. The better choice depends on your design needs and your team's existing skills.

Can Flutter apps access native features?

Yes. Most common features have maintained plugins, and for anything else we write platform channels in Swift or Kotlin and expose them to Dart.

What about app size and performance?

Flutter apps include the engine, so a minimal app is larger than a minimal native one. Performance is strong for typical apps, and we profile heavy screens to keep them smooth.
