Strapi Headless CMS Development

Self-hosted Strapi back ends that give editors a clean admin and give developers flexible APIs for any front end.

Overview

Strapi Development

Strapi is an open-source, Node.js-based headless CMS you host yourself. Developers define content types in code, editors get an admin panel, and any website or app consumes the content through REST or GraphQL APIs. Codemotives uses it when teams want full data control, no per-seat SaaS fees and customization in JavaScript or TypeScript.

Because you host it, you also own operations: database, scaling, backups, upgrades and security. We build Strapi with that in mind, including roles and permissions, custom controllers, plugins, webhooks and deployment pipelines. We are candid that Contentful or Sanity may suit teams who prefer a managed service, and compare them for you.

Context

Problems we solve

  • 01

    Hosting and operations

Self-hosting means you maintain it. We set up deployments, backups and monitoring.

  • 02

    Content model design

Poor models are hard to change later. We design reusable types and components up front.

  • 03

    Fine-grained access

Different roles need different rights. We configure roles, and extend them for custom cases.

  • 04

    Version upgrades

Major Strapi upgrades can need code changes. We plan and test them in staging.

Approach

How we deliver

  1. 1

    Discover

We learn your goals, users, constraints and existing systems before proposing anything.

  2. 2

Scope, priorities, architecture and milestones are agreed so everyone knows what ships when.

  3. 3

    Design

User flows, interfaces and technical design are shaped and reviewed with you early.

  4. 4

    Build

Work is delivered in short iterations with regular demos, so progress is always visible.

  5. 5

    Test

Functional, integration and performance checks run throughout, not only at the end.

    Launch & support

We deploy, monitor and keep improving the product after it goes live.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

Strapi or Contentful?

Strapi gives control and no per-seat fees but needs hosting and upkeep. Contentful is managed and polished, with usage-based costs. The choice depends on your team and budget.

Can editors preview content?

Yes. We configure preview links to your front end so editors see drafts before publishing.

Is Strapi suitable for large sites?

It can be, with proper database, caching and deployment design. We review expected content and traffic before advising.
