Wix Website Development
Wix and Wix Studio sites built cleanly, with Velo customization where useful and straight advice on when to choose another platform.
Overview
Wix Website Development
Wix is a popular builder with a drag-and-drop editor, built-in hosting, booking, store and many app integrations. For small businesses that want to launch quickly and manage content themselves, it can be sufficient. Codemotives builds Wix and Wix Studio sites with consistent layouts, clear structure, tracking and forms, and uses Velo, Wix's JavaScript development platform, for custom behavior.
Wix also has real limits. You cannot move a Wix site to another host as it stands, deep performance tuning is restricted, and custom back-end needs can hit platform boundaries. We tell you when Wix is a reasonable choice and when WordPress, Webflow or custom development will serve you better, including how to migrate away safely.
Context
Problems we solve
- 01
Messy drag-and-drop layouts
Free-form editing leads to inconsistent pages. We use grids, sections and reusable elements for order.
- 02
Performance limits
You cannot control hosting or all code. We optimize media, apps and structure within what Wix allows.
- 03
Platform lock-in
A Wix site cannot be exported as is. We plan content so a later migration is manageable.
- 04
Customization boundaries
Advanced logic needs Velo and has limits. We test feasibility before promising features.

FAQs
Common questions
Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.
Is Wix good enough for a business?
For small, straightforward sites, often yes. If you need complex logic, large catalogs or full control of hosting and code, another platform is likely better.
What can Velo do?
Velo adds JavaScript, databases and API calls to Wix pages, enabling custom forms and dynamic content. It works within Wix's runtime, so it is not a full custom back end.
Can we move off Wix later?
Yes, but not by export. Content is copied or rebuilt on the new platform, and URLs are redirected to protect search visibility.
