Membership Sites With Gated Content
Member-only sites with tiered access, recurring billing and community features for associations, creators, clubs and training businesses.
Overview
Membership Website Development
A membership site controls who sees what. That means signup, plans, payment, renewal, upgrade, downgrade and what happens when a payment fails. Codemotives builds these flows so access is granted and removed automatically and members never see content they have not paid for. Clear rules for trials, renewals and cancellations are agreed before any code is written.
Beyond the paywall, retention depends on the member experience: a useful dashboard, searchable content, events, directories and email. We can build on WordPress with membership plugins when that is enough, or create custom platforms when you need unusual tiers, integrations or scale. Pricing and billing rules are modeled to match your actual model, not a generic template.
Context
Problems we solve
- 01
Access control errors
Members getting content they should not see, or losing access wrongly, damages trust. We test every tier and edge case.
- 02
Failed renewals
Expired cards cause silent churn. Retry logic and clear reminders recover many failed payments.
- 03
Low engagement
Members who do not return cancel. Dashboards, recommendations and email nudges bring them back.
- 04
Plugin limits
Off-the-shelf plugins stop at certain complexity. We tell you when custom work is justified.

FAQs
Common questions
Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.
Should we use a membership plugin or build custom?
Plugins work well for common tiered content. Custom builds fit unusual pricing, heavy integrations or large volumes. We assess your requirements before recommending.
How is premium content protected?
Content is gated server-side, and media can use signed or restricted delivery. No method stops a determined member from sharing, but we make casual leaking harder.
Can existing members be imported?
Usually yes, from spreadsheets or another platform. Payment tokens may be harder to move, so we plan migration with your payment provider.
