Backend

MERN Stack for Modern Web Apps

We build MERN applications on MongoDB, Express, React and Node.js for products that need rich, interactive interfaces and a flexible, JavaScript-first backend.

Overview

MERN Stack

MERN pairs React on the frontend with Express and Node.js on the server and MongoDB for data. React's component model and large ecosystem make it a popular choice for interactive interfaces, and because it is a library rather than a full framework, teams choose their own routing, state and data-fetching approach.

That flexibility is where we add value. We set conventions early for folder layout, state management and API contracts, use TypeScript across the stack, and pick between client rendering and server rendering with Next.js when SEO or first-load speed matters. The result suits consumer-facing products, startups and teams that iterate quickly on user experience.

Context

Why teams choose it

  • 01

    Rich interactive UIs

React's component model handles dynamic interfaces, dashboards and real-time updates well.

  • 02

    Huge React ecosystem

Libraries for routing, forms, charts and state management are plentiful and well documented.

  • 03

    Fast iteration

JavaScript on both sides and a flexible database make it quick to try, change and ship features.

  • 04

    Large talent pool

React and Node.js are widely known, which makes hiring and onboarding easier.

Approach

How we work with it

  1. 1

    Assess

We review your goals and any existing code to decide where this technology fits best.

  2. 2

    Architect

We plan structure, integrations, data flow and hosting before writing production code.

  3. 3

    Build

Features ship in small, reviewed increments with automated checks along the way.

  4. 4

    Release & maintain

We deploy, monitor and keep dependencies and versions up to date.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

MERN or MEAN, which should we pick?

The difference is React versus Angular. Choose MERN for flexibility and a large React ecosystem, or MEAN if your team prefers Angular's built-in structure and conventions.

Is MERN good for SEO?

A plain client-rendered React app can be weak for SEO. We address this with server-side rendering or static generation, typically through Next.js, for pages that need to be indexed.

Can a MERN app scale?

Yes, with sound design. That means stateless Node services behind a load balancer, proper MongoDB indexing and sharding where needed, caching and monitoring.

Should we use MongoDB or a SQL database?

MongoDB suits flexible, document-oriented data. For heavily relational data and complex transactions, we may recommend PostgreSQL with the same Node and React layers.
