Logistics Apps for Moving Goods

We build web and mobile apps that connect dispatchers, drivers, warehouses and customers, so shipments move with fewer calls and fewer surprises.

Overview

Logistics App Development

Logistics runs on handoffs, and each handoff is a chance for information to get lost. Codemotives builds apps that capture what happens at every step: a driver confirming pickup, a warehouse scanning a parcel, a customer receiving an update. The goal is one shared view of each shipment instead of spreadsheets and phone calls. We keep the screens simple enough for busy drivers and dispatchers.

Our approach starts with how your operation really works, including the exceptions: failed deliveries, rescheduled slots and damaged goods. We build the mobile and back-office software around those cases, integrate it with your existing systems, and keep it usable in vehicles and loading bays where connectivity is unreliable. We test these flows with realistic job volumes before rollout.

Context

Sector challenges

  • 01

    Poor shipment visibility

Customers and dispatchers ask where an order is, and answers sit in different systems. A single status source removes most of those calls.

  • 02

    Unreliable connectivity

Drivers lose signal in warehouses, tunnels and rural routes. Apps must capture work offline and sync safely afterward.

  • 03

    Manual dispatch work

Assigning jobs by hand does not scale as volume grows. Rules and route suggestions help dispatchers decide faster.

  • 04

    Proof and disputes

Damage and missed delivery claims need evidence. Photos, signatures and timestamps need to be captured at the moment of handoff.

Capabilities

Solutions we build

  1. 01

    Driver mobile apps

Job lists, navigation hand-off, scanning, photo capture and e-signature, with offline support for poor coverage.

  2. 02

    Dispatch dashboards

Live maps, job assignment, exception queues and status filters that give dispatchers a working picture of the day.

  3. 03

    Shipment tracking

Status pages and notifications by SMS, email or push so customers can follow a delivery without calling.

  4. 04

    Warehouse workflows

Receiving, picking, packing and handover flows using barcode or QR scanning on phones or handheld devices.

  5. 05

    Carrier and API integration

Connections to carriers, marketplaces, ERP and accounting tools so orders flow in and status flows back.

  6. 06

    Operations reporting

Delivery performance, delay causes and workload reports that help managers find recurring problems.

Approach

How we build for your sector

  1. 1

    Understand the domain

We map your workflows, users, data and the rules your business operates under.

  2. 2

    Design for real users

Interfaces are shaped around the people who use the system every day.

  3. 3

    Build & integrate

We connect the product with the tools and data sources you already rely on.

  4. 4

    Launch & improve

After launch we measure usage and keep refining what matters most.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

Can the app work when drivers have no signal?

Yes. We design driver apps to store jobs, scans and proof of delivery locally, then sync when connectivity returns. We also handle conflicts, such as a job reassigned while the driver was offline.

Do you integrate with existing dispatch or ERP systems?

We can connect through APIs, webhooks, file exchange or database access, depending on what your systems offer. Older systems sometimes need an integration layer in between, which we scope during discovery.

What affects the cost of a logistics app?

The biggest factors are the number of user roles, real-time tracking depth, offline requirements and how many external systems must be integrated. Route optimization and device scanning add further scope. Get in touch and we can estimate from your workflow.
