SEO & Search
SEO Across Countries and Languages
We plan and implement search visibility for multiple countries and languages, from hreflang and URL structure to content that is localized, not just translated.
Overview
International SEO
International SEO starts with structure. Codemotives helps you choose between country-code domains, subdomains and subfolders, then implements hreflang annotations so search engines serve the right version to the right audience. Common problems include missing return tags, wrong language codes and canonicals that cancel hreflang, all of which we check with crawl tools and Search Console.
Translation alone is not localization. Search terms, currency, units, legal notices, payment methods and examples differ by market, so we work from local keyword research and recommend native review of translated pages. We avoid machine-translated bulk pages that add little value. Performance in each market depends on competition and local demand, and we cannot promise rankings.
Context
Problems we solve
- 01
Wrong version shown
Without correct hreflang, users may land on a page in the wrong language or country.
- 02
Domain structure decisions
ccTLDs, subdomains and subfolders each have tradeoffs in cost, maintenance and signals. Choosing late is expensive.
- 03
Translation without localization
Literal translations miss how people search locally and can read unnaturally.
- 04
Duplicate content between regions
Near-identical pages for English-speaking markets can compete unless signals are set up clearly.

FAQs
Common questions
Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.
Should I use a ccTLD or a subfolder?
It depends on budget, brand and how separately each market will be run. Country domains give strong geographic signals but cost more to maintain, while subfolders consolidate effort on one domain.
Is machine translation acceptable?
It can help as a first draft, but we recommend native review before publishing. Unreviewed bulk translation often reads poorly and may be treated as low-value content.
Do you support Codemotives clients in different time zones?
Yes. Codemotives works remotely from Ahmedabad, India, with clients worldwide, and we can plan meetings in overlapping hours.
