Software Development

Applications Made Around You

Whether it runs in a browser, on a phone or on a desktop, we build applications for a specific audience and purpose, not for a generic market.

Overview

Custom Application Development

Custom application development covers the user-facing programs that people open every day: field-service apps, booking tools, dashboards, order systems and internal utilities. The emphasis is on fit. The application should match the vocabulary, steps and devices your users already have, so adoption does not depend on lengthy training. That fit is what makes people actually use the result.

We start by observing how the work is done today, then decide which platform or combination of platforms makes sense. A responsive web app is often enough; sometimes a mobile or desktop client is warranted. We build the application, connect it to your data sources and test it with real users before and after rollout.

Context

Problems we solve

  • 01

    Choosing the platform

Web, mobile, desktop or a mix all have trade-offs, and the wrong choice limits reach or inflates cost.

  • 02

    Low user adoption

Applications that ignore real working habits get abandoned for the old spreadsheet or email thread.

  • 03

    Offline and device constraints

Field workers and warehouse staff often have poor connectivity or specialized hardware.

  • 04

    Data trapped elsewhere

The application needs information that lives in other systems that were never designed to share it.

Capabilities

What we deliver

  1. 01

    User research and flows

We watch and talk to the people who will use the application and design around their tasks.

  2. 02

    Platform guidance

Honest advice on whether web, mobile, desktop or a combination fits your case.

  3. 03

    Responsive interfaces

Layouts that work on the screens and devices your users actually carry.

  4. 04

    Offline-capable design

Local storage and synchronization where connectivity cannot be assumed.

  5. 05

    Back-end and API work

Server logic, databases and APIs that support the application and its integrations.

  6. 06

    Rollout support

Pilot groups, feedback loops and training material to help the application settle in.

Where it fits

  • Field service and inspection applications
  • Booking and scheduling systems
  • Inventory and order management tools
  • Customer-facing account portals
  • Dashboards replacing manual reporting

Technologies we use

  • React
  • React Native
  • Flutter
  • Node.js
  • .NET
  • PostgreSQL
  • REST APIs
  • Electron

Approach

How we deliver

  1. 1

    Discover

We learn your goals, users, constraints and existing systems before proposing anything.

  2. 2

    Plan

Scope, priorities, architecture and milestones are agreed so everyone knows what ships when.

  3. 3

    Design

User flows, interfaces and technical design are shaped and reviewed with you early.

  4. 4

    Build

Work is delivered in short iterations with regular demos, so progress is always visible.

  5. 5

    Test

Functional, integration and performance checks run throughout, not only at the end.

  6. 6

    Launch & support

We deploy, monitor and keep improving the product after it goes live.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

How is this different from custom software development?

The two overlap. Custom application development focuses on the user-facing program and its experience across devices, while custom software can also mean back-end systems, automation and data platforms with little interface.

Should we build web, mobile or both?

It depends on where your users are and what they need from the device. If they need cameras, offline access or push notifications, mobile is more likely; otherwise a responsive web app is often faster and cheaper to maintain.

Can you take over an application someone else built?

Yes, after a review of its code and documentation. We will tell you whether it is better to extend, refactor or rebuild, and explain why.
