Custom Software for Indian Businesses

Custom software for Indian businesses from a team based in Ahmedabad, built around GST, Tally, UPI and the realities of Indian operations.

Overview

Custom Software Development in India

Indian businesses in manufacturing, textiles, trading, education, healthcare and services often run on a mix of spreadsheets, Tally and disconnected tools. Codemotives, founded in 2018 and based in Ahmedabad, builds custom software that connects those pieces, and we work in the same time zone as our clients across India. Delivery is planned in phases, so you can start with the module that matters most.

The local context drives design. Invoices must handle GST, accounting often lives in Tally or Zoho, and payments commonly run through UPI and similar methods. Personal data is handled with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind, and interfaces frequently need Hindi, Gujarati or other regional languages. We also handle training and handover so your staff can adopt the system.

Context

What matters here

  • 01

    GST and accounting sync

Invoices, returns data and ledgers must flow cleanly between your software and Tally or other accounting tools.

  • 02

    Mixed legacy tools

Data often sits in spreadsheets, old desktop software and WhatsApp threads, which complicates migration and adoption.

  • 03

    Varied device and network quality

Users range from office desktops to low-end phones on weak connections, so software must be light and resilient.

  • 04

    Regional language needs

Staff and customers may prefer Hindi, Gujarati or other languages, which affects fonts, search and reporting.

    Agree the plan

Scope, milestones, working hours overlap, communication channels and documentation are set up front.

  3. 3

    Build in the open

Short iterations with demos, shared boards and written updates keep progress visible from anywhere.

  4. 4

    Launch & support

We deploy, hand over documentation and access, and keep supporting the product after release.

FAQs

Common questions

Have a question that is not covered here? Get in touch.

Do you work in Indian Standard Time?

Yes. Codemotives is based in Ahmedabad, so we share your working hours and can meet in person or on a call at short notice. India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 with no daylight saving.

Can you connect our software to Tally?

Tally supports data exchange through its interfaces, and we confirm the right method for your Tally version and setup. We define which entries sync and how mismatches are reported before building.

How do you approach data protection in India?

We design with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind, covering consent, access control and data retention, but we cannot guarantee compliance. Your legal advisers should confirm obligations for your business.

What drives cost and timeline?

Workflow complexity, the number of users and branches, integrations and how much existing data must be migrated. We scope in phases so you can start with the most valuable module.
